Yanagisawa S800 Prima Soprano Saxophone, Video Demo
Yanagisawa S800 Prima soprano saxophone, s/n 151012. This is a great playing and sounding soprano saxophone that was manufactured in 1988. The horn takes on air very naturally and produces a gorgeous sound that is full and complex. There's some very nice resonance and presence, but it doesn't get overly bright and thin like some other sopranos out there. The Prima model is somewhat rare, and originally made for the Asian market. This horn takes some design cues from the Mark VI with its inline palm keys. Fortunately Yanagisawa decided to include a neck strap hook unlike the Mark VI. The pads are in good condition and seal well. The body tube is straight and there are zero dents. At this price point, I don't think there's a better soprano saxophone out there.
