Yamaha YBS-62ii Baritone Saxophone, Just Serviced
Yamaha YBS-62ii baritone saxophone, s/n 26031. This is Yamaha's newest 62 model which is a significant upgrade from an already tremendous saxophone. Two notable improvements are game changers for me. First, Yamaha shortened the bell. This not only brings the low A in tune which has always been a flat note on most low A baritones, but improves low note responsiveness. Second, Yamaha added a peg, so you can play the sax for hours comfortably. Other improvements include a redesigned neck and integrated key posts.
I recently acquired this sax from the original owner who was a local pro. He took great care of the instrument. There are very few scratches. My repairman took out a ding on the bell, but otherwise, it's very clean for a baritone. He also serviced the horn, regulating the pads and replacing the water key cork. The horn plays like a new instrument and sings in all registers.
