Yamaha Custom YTS-82ZS Tenor Saxophone, Near Mint
Yamaha Custom 82Z tenor saxophone with silver finish, s/n D16837. In my opinion, this is the finest tenor saxophone model being made today. I adore this saxophone for both classical and jazz styles. It has the most even scale of any tenor model being made today, and absolutely no effort is required to achieve an even scale in all ranges of the horn. The sax feels alive and responsive in a way that few other horns, vintage or modern, capture.
This sax was previously owned by an LA based professional saxophonist. The condition is nearly perfect, and the pads are still in excellent condition. This sax is unique in a couple of ways. First, it was upgraded with a V1 neck, which has better intonation, sound and projection than the original G1 neck. Also, the bow to body connection was soldered together by Jeff Peterson of The Yamaha Atelier in Buena Park, vastly improving low note resonance and response. The low end on this horn plays incredibly well and speaks without any effort. The sax comes in the original case.
