Yamaha Custom 875EX Alto Saxophone
Yamaha Custom 875EX alto saxophone. This sax has the D-series prefix, indicating it's only a few years old. I just got the sax back from my repairman, who regulated all of the pads and cleaned the saxophone. It's playing incredibly well now, and speaks effortlessly from top to bottom.
There is some lacquer loss due to the previous owner laying the sax down on its side. However, this is not due to any sort of trauma or overuse. The sax still has the feel (and smell) of a new horn, so what you're getting here is a horn that has some lacquer loss, but a pad set with a ton of life left and a mechanism that still feels new. This is the same model that I play professionally, and I think this is a horn that for the money is the best model currently available.
