Yamaha Custom 82Z tenor saxophone with an unlacquered finish. In my opinion, this is the very best tenor saxophone model being made today. I adore this saxophone for both classical and jazz styles. Compared side by side, the unlacuqered version has more projection and tonal complexity to the sound. The tone is a touch darker compared to the lacquered version. This is my favorite version of the 82Z.
The sax was just regulated by my tech. The pads are in excellent shape and seal perfectly. The overall condition is excellent. You can tell that this one was only lightly used, as the original shininess of the saxophone still exists in many places. The unlacquered model begins its life as shiny as the lacquered version, and quickly oxidizes into what you see here.
