Yamaha Custom 82Z alto saxophone, YAS-82Z. This is Yamaha's top of the line professional saxophone, which is marketed as a jazz horn. These tend to have a bit more brightness and pop to the sound compared to the 875EX. This one is in excellent overall condition. The pads are original and sealing well. There are no dents. There are some light scratches and signs of wear, but overall the condition is way above average.
This is one of the earlier 82Z's, before Yamaha added a lettered prefix to the serial numbers. I've tried at least 50 Yamaha Customs, and I've noticed that many of these earlier number only serial numbers have a bit more zing and projection to the sound. So if you're looking for a horn with a huge sound with some great tonal focus and clarity, look no further.
