Yamaha Custom 82Z alto saxophone, YAS-82Z. This is Yamaha's top of the line professional sax. Included is a new V1 neck which is a perfect match for this horn. Yamaha began shipping the newer 82Zii models with the V1 neck instead of the older G1 model. The V1 neck is the most meaningful upgrade that Yamaha made with the update. The new neck has the widest taper which allows the horn to be more free blowing. The palm keys speak better, and the entire range pops with a bit more color and energy.
The horn is in perfect playing condition. The pads are sealing well and have a ton of life left. This is a D-series horn, which means that it's only a few years old. The overall condition is great. There are no dents, and only a few superficial scratches. The touch points are all perfect, which indicates that this was very lightly used. This is a great horn, made even better by the updated neck.
