Vintage Handmade Guardala Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece 3-Digit S/N!
Here's a vintage 1980's Guardala 3-digit handmade traditional silver plated tenor saxophone mouthpiece with dotted engraving and the pink bite plate. This is the model Michael Brecker played on, which was later renamed the traditional model. According to the original owner, the MB1 and MB2 were not what Brecker used. His was a long rollover baffle like this one, not a step baffle. Evidently, Mike tried out 50 DG Studios and Traditional mouthpieces before selecting this model. The MB1 and MB2 models came out later, but were not the model that Michael Brecker actually used! Sure enough, this mouthpiece has a very Brecker-like tone. It has a great combination of power, edge and warmth. The bite plate has a minor indentation. The table, tip and rails are nearly perfect. The tip opening measures .114".
