Vintage 1960's Selmer Soloist long shank alto saxophone moutpiece with a C** opening. This mouthpiece was acquired along with an early 1960's mark VI alto sax. This mouthpiece is in wonderful condition for its age. The table, tip and rails are all excellent. The tip opening measures .071", which is right on for a vintage C** mouthpiece.
This mouthpiece plays very well. It has a lot of control for a C**, and the tone is very full and round. Compared to other C** Soloists I've played, it has a thicker, darker sound than many. This is a very nice mouthpiece if you're looking for a vintage mouthpiece that is capable of playing controlled but with a huge dynamic range.
