Selmer Series III Alto Saxophone, Just Serviced
Selmer Series III alto saxophone, s/n 678777. This sax was just serviced by my repairman prior to sale. He replaced the neck cork and two othe corks, and adjusted the pads to ensure that they are sealing well. The horn feels tight and locked in.
The Series III has an extra vent for middle C#, which is typically a flat note on altos. It brings the pitch up without having to rely on awkward fingerings. This is a huge upgrade, and Selmer has incorporated this advancement on the Supreme. The sax is incredibly even throughout all registers and feels very efficient. Intonation is excellent. I really like the Series III, and I played on this model exclusively for ten years. If you're considering buying a new Selmer, save over 50% and buy this one instead.
