Selmer Reference 54 alto saxophone, s/n 734741. This sax is in near mint condition and has zero dings or dents. My tech just serviced the horn, so the pads seal well and the horn plays effortlessly in all registers.
Selmer introduced the Reference 54 in an attempt to capture the essence of a 1954 Mark VI, but with modern keywork and intonation. The result is a refined sound that has a lot of warmth and projection. This is a fantastic crossover horn that is capable of playing both jazz and classical styles at a high level.
