Selmer Mark VII Tenor Saxophone, M. 250,xxx, Fresh Overhaul
Selmer Mark VII tenor saxophone, s/n M. 250,xxx. Here is an early Mark VII tenor saxophone, which just received a full top of the line overhaul from Eric Beach. His work is world class, and this horn absolutely sings with his fresh overhaul. He used black roo pads and reusable Reso-Tech oversized brass resonators. The horn has a large, even sound from top to bottom. The palm keys speak with authority and resonance, perhaps the biggest difference/improvement from many Mark VI's.
Overall, the condition is very good. This horn shares the same engraving design as American assembled Mark VI saxophones, and the lacquer has held up great over the years. The low Eb key guard has been resoldered, and the neck/taper has been adjusted. Otherwise, the horn is in great physical shape, with approximately 96% of the original lacquer remaining. The sax comes int its original case
Unless you want to spend a lot more for a good Mark VI, you'll be hard pressed to find a better vintage Selmer than this one. It plays incredibly well, and I am confident its new owner will absolutely love this horn.
