Keilwerth SX90 Tenor Saxophone
Keilwerth SX90 tenor saxophone with black nickel plating. For a modern horn, this plays more like a great vintage King Super 20 than anything else out there. It's a loud horn that has an absolutely huge bottom end. These are very fun horns to play, and it's easy to see why they've developed a great reputation as an alternative to the big three. A unique feature is the adjustable palm keys which you don't see with other horns.
Mechanically, this horn is in excellent condition. The horn was just adjusted prior to sale, so the horn plays effortlessly from low Bb to high F#. There is a bit of plating loss from honest playing, but the horn is straight. Compared to the SX90R, I think this is the model to get. Keilwerth had some issues in the past with tone holes not being properly leveled. As a result, there are a lot of horns out there with unleveled tone holes. This made the horn more difficult to play due to the inevitable small leaks. The SX90 thankfully never had these issues. The sax comes in a hard shell SKB case.
