233,xxx Selmer Mark VI alto saxophone. When most of us are shopping for a Mark VI alto sax, we are looking for a horn with GREAT projection, a bright, assertive sound, capable of playing lead over a sax section, and able to craft our sound and tone with ease. If this sounds like you, then buy this horn and save thousands of dollars compared with other top vintage pro horns. Later Mark VI altos like this one are great playing saxophones, and a tremendous value. It's hard to find better price/performance.
This sax was previously relacquered, but plays very well. It has that typical late Mark VI bright, assertive sound. I really like how this horn plays. The sax comes in its original case. The neck is also original and has never been bent down. The pads look older but still have life left in them. The horn plays well as-is but could benefit from a tuneup.
