219,xxx Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone, 98% Original Lacquer, Near Mint
219,xxx Selmer Mark VI alto saxophone. Here's a beautiful example of a late Mark VI that is in near mint condition. The sax arrived with all original pads and resonators, which still in great shape despite their age. My repairman performed some pad adjustments, so they are now sealing well. The horn plays from top to bottom with ease. The neck is original to the horn and has never been bent down. The case is also original. Both zippers work, although the guides are missing.
The lacquer is in excellent shape with very little wear. There are some minor imperfections and repairs that have been performed over the years, but overall this one is in great original condition.
This is a very nice playing horn. The later Mark VI's can be incredible horns, and tend to have an extra gear in terms of volume and projection. This one has a great sound -- full, alive, confident. The intonation is excellent, as you'd expect with a medium bow Mark VI.
