1967 145,xxx Tenor Saxophone Original Lacquer, Full TM Mechanical Restoration
1967 145,xxx Mark VI tenor saxophone. This horn was just mechanically restored by Tenor Madness, who does the best restorations in the business. It received substantial restoration work, including the repositioning of the bell to its original geometry, as well as bell and body dent work, most of which was performed by Aaron Barnard. The result is a horn that looks and plays amazingly well. The horn was fitted with Pisoni Pro pads with nylon resonators.
Although I describe this horn as original lacquer, I'd be more accurate saying that it has never been relacquered (this was verified by TM). There is no lacquer left on this horn, as it spent most of its life in Hawaii and subject to constant ocean breezes. It's taken on a fantastic patina and blows extremely freely. The neck is original to the horn.
The 14x,xxx tenors are highly coveted because they sit on that line of early vs late Mark VI tenors and can often have the best qualities of both. This one has a dark, complex tone, reminiscent of earlier tenors, but has an extra gear that is not often found in the earlier VI's. All in all, this is an awesome sounding and looking Mark VI!
This saxophone comes in a brand new Bam Classic case.
