1957 71,xxx Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, Fresh Overhaul
1957 71,xxx Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone. Here's a very nice playing 5 digit Mark VI, which just received a fresh top of the line overhaul from Eric Beach. It's fitted with Pisoni Pro pads and reusable Reso-Tech resonators. Eric's work is world class, and this horn plays with a remarkable ease from top to bottom.
Structurally, this Mark VI is in great shape. The neck is original to the horn and has the matching s/n. It has never been pulled down. I don't see any evidence of major repairs or major dentwork. The lacquer is not original, but the process didn't leave a heavy mark. The engraving is still rather crisp and the tone holes all look great. The sax comes in a vintage case in good condition.
This horn defines the 5-digit sound. It has a classic Mark VI vibe, but with some extra complexity found in a good 5-digit horn. The sound is large and tonally flexible. It's an incredibly enjoyable sax to play that I'm quite sure will make its next owner very happy.
