1954 55,xxx Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone, Double S Neck, Overhaul, Video
1954 Selmer Mark VI alto saxophone, s/n 55682. This is one of the very first Mark VI altos ever made. It has the rare "double S" logo, which if you look closely is actually an S and C, for Selmer et Cie. The neck has never been pulled down and is original to the horn. It has a matching serial number.
The horn just received a top of the line overhaul from Eric Beach, who is one of the best repairmen in the business. His work is top notch and he uses the best materials available, including Pisoni Pro pads. Eric installed metal domed rivetless resonators, which are similar in shape and size to what the sax originally came with. The sax arrived with an old coat of non-original lacquer which we chemically removed. The engraving is still deep and 100% present. The sax comes in a brand new Bam case.
