1967 143,xxx Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, High End Overhaul
1967 Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone, s/n 143823. The sax has its original lacquer with approximately 95% present. This is a rare 140's model with the vertical Mark VI stamp located near the upper thumb rest. I adore 140's Mark VI tenors, and this this one is an absolutely tremendous player. These horns tend to possess the richness of earlier horns but some extra power that is common with later VI's. In my opinion, the best of both worlds.
This sax just received a full mechanical overhaul by Shelly Tanabe in 2024. Her work is second to none. The horn feels incredible. Powerful, efficient, easy to play down to a whisper in the low register. This is seriously good Mark VI tenor that can hang with just about anything else out there.
