192,xxx Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone, Great Condition, Just Serviced
1971 Selmer Mark VI alto saxophone, s/n 192097. Here's a 50+ year old vintage Selmer that is in excellent original condition. The lacquer is original with 99% still intact. The neck is original to the horn and has never been bent down. The pads have some age on them but still have some good life left. My repairman just serviced the sax, replacing 8 pads and 4 key corks. The action feels smooth and crisp, and feels like it hasn't been played much in its life.
Horns around the 200,xxx serial number are fantastic horns and an excellent value. They are capable of excellent power and projection. Plus, this vintage has a medium bow, which most players prefer for the combination of excellent intonation and sound.
